I would like to move to California which city do you recommend?
San Diego, San Francisco or somewhere else. I have family in LA and I just don’t think I would love it there. I am a mid 30’s single African American woman, who loves culture, arts, fashion, diversity, and good eats. I am also A Social Media marketing consultant who currently works with fashion retail and small boutique stores. And I own my own naturally handmade bath and body products company. Where would I prosper with my career and business? I like city living, but need to pay suburban prices. Where should I go?
Cost and weather are major factors. The weather in the San Francisco Bay Area is much cooler than San Diego. That said, if you want suburban prices but close access to city living, you should consider Berkeley or Oakland. They both have better weather than San Francisco proper and are a quick jump away from the city. That said, I live in San Francisco and love it!
Below is a salary calculator that you might play with to think about different cities. I’ve also linked to a weather averages page for San Francisco.
Cheers!
