The Top Social Media by Idell Fralick
It’s time for a serious discussion about online presence. What is the Best Social Media to get the word out about your books? Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, MySpace, Ning, Google Plus+… Come on, do not be shy. Which do you choose and why?
The best social media for your titles is anyone you utilize to its fullest. So when you hear you must have a Facebook and/or Twitter account, nope, that’s not so. Now let’s get to building that strong online presence.
Conduct a Google search on “Top Social Networking Sites” and you will receive a nice list of sites you can explore. Review a lot of sites, then choose the site(s) that you are most comfortable with and make your presence there. No matter which you choose, you’ll need to nurture your account to build a solid online presence. The time and commitment needed to nurture your account will help you determine how various sorts of social media you will venture into.Everything you do for your book, think return on your investment. Your time is money. It is advisable to invest quality time in one location that you could nurture your relationship with your potential audience than spread yourself over several networks and never make a true connection with your target audience.
Identify your potential audience, become familiar with them and hopefully they will join your network. I understand a lot of you are stating that is a given, but you’d be shocked how many authors spend your time wanting to add everyone to their networks without rhyme or reason. Eventually, they could have 1000’s of members in their network(s), although not many of those 1000s come in their target audience and/or few will purchase the author’s books.
Most social media sites have groups of some sort. Be part of and participate in groups that consist of your target audience. When you attend signings, conferences, do guest posts… make sure you include links to your information. Make it easy for your target clients to join your network.
When you have joined up with groups and have participated, gotten the feel of the group, allowed individuals to get to know you, you will have to let others know you could have whatever they want-A downright excellent book they won’t desire to put down. Promotion is an efficient thing, but don’t become an infomercial. Readers love to feel as if they do know you. Continue participating the group about your book along with other topics, increasing their interest in you and not just your book. Be sure to promote your opt-in mailing list. Your opt-in mailing list is a superb approach to market directly to your target viewers.
Okay, you’ve found your target viewers and are engaging them in the social media that you pick, and they are joining your network and mailing list. GREAT! Continue the excellent work. In case you have several accounts, you could find it tough to keep up with them. So for your promotion posts, you might want to try a tool such as Hootsuite. This tool means that you can schedule posts. So that you could write a message with regards to your latest title and schedule it to post on several of your websites at the same time. This tool also has excellent tracking functionality.
Tracking is really important. You would like to know if your social media campaigns have increased your sales, mailing list, loyal base. Let’s say you happen to be mingling with a specific group, then declare in the group that your new book can be acquired on Amazon and you give links to Amazon and your site. Did your profits improve? Look at your website’s statistics ( Google Analytics works best for most platforms if yours doesn’t have stats). Are readers visiting your website? Are they clicking the purchase links? Are they joining your mailing list? If not, why? Replace your strategy until eventually you obtain the preferred results.
I don’t want to put you on information overload, so the following month I will go more into tracking your statistics as well as your website.
Now go out there and make a powerful online presence.
